Cali McTavish

Senior Storyteller

As a third-generation member of a family office, Cali knows firsthand the unifying power of a shared family story—and the deep comfort that comes from preserving an elder’s memories for the next generation to enjoy and learn from.

Storytelling has been the throughline of her career. Before joining Echo, she spent four years as a journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Her reporting included a stint in the far north at the Yukon bureau, where she learned that great storytelling requires equal parts curiosity and deep respect for the people lending you their voices. Whether producing live election coverage, contributing to flagship podcasts like Front Burner and What on Earth, or filing digital and radio pieces, Cali built a reputation for handling complex, multi-stakeholder narratives with integrity, nuance, and care.

Earlier in her career, Cali spent four years in corporate sales with heavy hitters like Starbucks and Nestlé, consulting for foodservice clients across British Columbia. Managing accounts for hotels, universities, and healthcare facilities taught her what corporate leaders care about most—and how essential a clear narrative is to getting an entire organization rowing in the same direction.

Now with Echo, Cali approaches every project with the belief that a legacy is an heirloom: when brought into the light, it strengthens culture, builds resilience, and keeps purpose alive across generations.

In her downtime, you can find her in the mountains dodging sunburns—whether on skis, a bike, or her own two feet.
