Masa got an MBA from McGill, bought a suit, and worked on management consulting projects spanning 15 countries. He grew out the hair, bought a chainsaw, and built a rustic cabin on Haida Gwaii. The yearlong digital-media series Masa Off Grid was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. He wrote features and cover stories for magazines and newspapers, was nominated for National Magazine Awards, rewrote screenplays for movies, and teaches non-fiction writing at Capilano University.
