A freelance editor since 2001, Renate specializes in proofreading illustrated books in a wide range of genres — including many of Echo’s titles since 2005. She’s also an accomplished narrator, recording articles and books for those with vision loss, and has a decade of experience writing described video scripts for movies and TV series. Her background includes a master’s in Linguistics and working in business admin while traveling widely (with the rugs to prove it), before getting into publishing in the late 1980s, first with magazines, then corporate manuals, and then books (dream come true).
