Sue was a print journalist for 30 years at Toronto Star, Canadian Press, Gemini News Service in London and Montreal Gazette. She covered everything from the Velvet Revolution in the former Czechoslovakia to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, to post-genocide Rwanda. She has won awards from Amnesty International, Beyond Borders, Canadian Institutes for Health Research, National Newspaper Awards and the Quebec Federation of Journalists. Sue taught journalism in Rwanda.
She is named as one of 15 Montrealers changing the world.
